I am the primitive
artist, pattern designer, and proprietor behind Sassafras Hill Primitives. I
live and work in Northern Connecticut, just a stone’s throw from the
Massachusetts’s border. My work stems from a lifelong passion for primitive
antiques and whimsical artsy items.

A great number of my works are inspired by my love for gardening and critters of
all sorts. I also confess to a deep infatuation with make-dos and pincushions.
My favored materials are antique textiles, chippy old architectural castaways,
and unique natural items found in my travels throughout New England.
My crafty aspirations were sparked at a tender age by my grandmother, who kept a
huge treasure stash, and encouraged and allowed me to create to my heart's
content. There is not a day that passes that I don't think of my work as a
tribute to her!
Each piece I make has a little bit of my heart, and everything on my website is
created by myself, in my non smoking home, with loving stitches. I hope you will
find this evident in my work. I don't rush through my orders, and work hard to
produce quality work which will give you many years of pleasure.
